 The Teleprompter/Autocue Scrolling Area
This is the area in which your scrolling script or text appears and from where it will be read by your talent or presenter. You can choose a background colour for this screen, along with a font size and colour. There is also an adjustable green arrow pointer on the left, to use as a guide for where the reader's eyes should be focussed whilst reading the script.
The Teleprompter Control Panel
This control panel section is used to start, pause, stop and control the speed of your scrolling text; although these functions can also be operated via keyboard shortcuts and the USB foot pedals . You also select the general parameters such as background colour, font, colour and size here. Once set, these choices are stored as defaults and will be used the next time you use the software.
Using the Open button allows you to browse for and select the text file to be loaded into the teleprompter. However, you can also type directly into the screen area itself, cut and paste from your word processor, edit and save amendments as a new text file. And to help with editing your script, buttons are provided to copy, cut and paste the text: you can also print out your script if required.
The Audio Recorder Panel
A distinguishing feature of Tele-Prompt is its built in high quality audio recorder; something that extends it usefulness considerably. Purely audio Podcasts and voice overs for example are made that much easier by having both teleprompter and audio recorder within the one application.
The audio controls follow conventional practice, having start, stop and pause buttons, an audio quality selection facility and an audio level meter to adjust recording volume. There is also an elapsed recording time meter and a checkbox that syncronises the scrolling text in the teleprompter area to the audio recording. Therefore, if you press the pause button on the recorder, Esc key on the keyboard or a foot pedal, the text will simultaniously pause too; so you can start and stop scrolling and recording at will, to ensure a high quality production throughout!
