	Version 2.2 Released: 2009 saw the release of Tele-Prompt Standard Edition version 2.2. Building upon the success of the new interface introduced with version 2.0, this latest update fixes a couple of minor bugs and adds the following improvements: The location of saved scripts is now remembered after the software is closed. This means for example, you can now store all your scripts in one designated folder and in future, this will become the default folder opened each time you load a script. The default location for saving audio files is now within the Tele-Prompt program directory. Tele-Prompt now has its own file format, with .tpf extension. Scripts may now be saved in both normal text - ie .txt format and Tele-Prompt’s native .tpf format; for example myscript.tpf. This now means that double clicking on a file with this extension will automatically launch Tele-Prompt. The introduction of this proprietary file format will allow us to incorporate a whole range of improvements to the software in due course, particularly in the more sophisticated Pro version due to be released in the first quarter of 2009.

Remote Control USB Foot Pedals Released: Although controlling Tele-Prompt via the computer keyboard controls works well, there are occasions when it is simply not convenient or practical to do this. As a result, we have now developed our own remote control pedal units

They available in two formats; a single pedal for simple start and stop of your scrolling script and the three pedal unit as shown here. This duplicates the Esc, F1 and F2 keyboard controls and allows you to start, stop, increase and decrease the scroll speed of your script; providing for complete “hands free” operation!

These dedicated heavy duty high quality USB pedals are very easy to install and use. Simply plug them into a spare USB port and the necessary driver will be installed automatically. A few moments later they’ll be ready for use. As standard, the three pedal unit is configured as follows:

Left pedal: reduce scoll speed - the same as F1 on the keyboard
Centre pedal: start and stop - the same as Esc on the keyboard
Right pedal: increase scroll speed - the same as F2 on the keyboard

Both pedals are supplied with standard 3 metre USB cables. However, by using an “active” USB extension cable they can be used up to 18 metres away. These cable are generally available locally but we can supply a suitable 5 metre one if required. The pedal units can be ordered HERE Shipping costs vary according to the destination and owing to the volatile state of the currency market at the moment, will be quoted for at the time of order.

Hardware Sales: With the introduction of our own Tele-Prompt USB pedal units and following on from past requests for us to supply certain items of hardware - notably the equipment featured in our “Setting Up” section, we will now be developing a small hardware sales section. This will not be a general audio visual online shop in the conventional sense, but merely offer items we feel will be of interest to users of Tele-Prompt.
