In the meantime, the new Tele-prompt screen layouts can be seen on the main features page

When you first launch Tele-Prompt, you’ll be given the option of choosing at what resolution you would like to run the software. The two pre-set options of 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 pixels are ideally suited to teleprompter work.

Choosing Tele-Prompt screen resolution

Choosing Tele-Prompt’s screen resolution

If you also set your computer screen resolution to either of these, you will find that Tele-Prompt neatly fills the screen. And using the interface in this way means you will have no desktop showing to distract you from reading your lines! However, we have provided a simple “roll up” button on the top right of the display so that you can quickly access your desktop again if required.

This is the opening screen when you choose the resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. The larger resolution 1024 x 768 pixels interface has exactly the same facilities; it merely takes advantage of the extra resolution and has a more spacious “feel” about it.

Choosing and setting the background colour of the scrolling area in Tele-Prompt

The first thing to do is choose a suitable background colour for the scrolling area. Traditional teleprompters use a simple black and white display but you can choose from all the standard range of Windows colours for both your background and font colours. The default colour scheme when you first start Tele-Prompt is white text on a blue background; a combination I have found works well for me.

However, if you run some tests of your own, you’ll quickly find your favourite colour combination. And once they are set, Tele-Prompt will remember them. They become the new default and so you’ll not need to reset them each time you use Tele-Prompt
