		Tele-Prompt is being continually updated and improved so the screen shots here will also be updated soon to reflect the slight change of panel layout and the additional features. These include: (1) Better illuminated display to indicate recording in progress. (2) Recorder timer to show elapsed recording time. (3) Start and stop scrolling and recording via computer keyboard. (4) Adjust scroll speed via computer keyboard. In the meantime, the new Tele-prompt screen layouts can be seen on the main features page

Setting up for Recording
Unlike most teleprompters, Tele-Prompt has its own built in high quality audio recorder. Furthermore, recording can be syncronised to the scrolling text in the teleprompter area. This makes it particularly suitable for all types of vocal audio work, including Podcasting. radio commercials and audio ebooks for example.

And even when you are working on video projects, Tele-Prompt’s recorder can prove extremely useful. If your video camera has a separate audio input for example you can record the presenter or talent’s voice directly to your computer or separate audio recording device, whilst feeding another audio signal into the video camera’s audio input. This effectively gives you a simple two channel mixer! However, let’s, move on to setting up the Tele-Prompt audio Recorder.

	You need to set things up carefully beforehand, particularly if you intend using a good quality microphone and an external audio interface or sound card. This is something I highly recommend. Good quality audio is an important part of any audio or video production and it’s worth spending some time and money on getting it right.

In fact it’s so important, I’ll be adding articles on this subject soon to our resources section, along with reviews on recommended audio equipment and software. Purchasers of Tele-Prompt will also be entitled to discounts on certain items and free software in the Private Members’ area.

So, let’s run through the steps you’ll need to take in configuring Tele Prompt’s Recorder, since you need to check or even amend a few settings within the Windows operating system before running Tele-Prompt.

The procedure outlined on the following page is less important if you intend simply plugging a microphone into the “microphone in” input on your computer’s standard sound card; indeed you will probably not even need to consider it. However it’s still worth checking your audio settings. And you’ll know what needs to be done should you decide to upgrade your audio facilities at a later date.
